DronePixel
Hide. Aim. Strike.
DronePixel is a top-down pixel-art action game where you control two things at once: move your soldier with the keyboard and aim your drone with the mouse. Stay next to trees, cars, benches or big bushes to turn invisible, then strike from anywhere on screen. Firing gives you away for five seconds, and cover can be blown apart.
A helicopter drops you off the coast for a free-for-all against seven rivals. Get the most takedowns before the ten minutes run out, or reach thirty to end the round early. Watch out for the red sight: a rival drone is locked on you and is about to empty its magazine. A circle on the ground means a rocket is coming.
Grab the dollars every takedown drops and spend them on upgrades. Money and upgrades carry over between rounds in your browser. After each round you move on to another island (five so far), and you can tell us whether you liked it.
The islands never stay the same: the tide rises and falls and swallows whole streets, bullets and bazooka rockets wreck the scenery, sharks hunt in the water and the locals go about their lives.
BETA
This is an early single-player BETA: you against seven computer-controlled rivals. It is not online multiplayer. Expect rough edges. Progress is saved only in this browser. The round keeps going even if you open a menu or switch tabs.
Controls
- WASD: move / swim · Shift: run
- Space: jump; dive in water; get in and out of a vehicle next to its door
- Mouse + left click: aim and fire the drone
- Right click or Q: switch machine gun / bazooka
- Tab: scores · Esc: menu
Phones and tablets (landscape): drag on the left half to move and on the right half to aim; the drone fires when a rival is in the sight. Double-tap to jump or switch weapon. Best played on a computer.
Feedback welcome
- Does moving the soldier while aiming the drone feel natural?
- Can you tell when you are hidden or exposed?
- Which islands did you like the most?
Tell us your browser and device, what happened and what you expected.
